Dheeraj has worked in advertising for over 19 years across McCann Erickson, Euro RSCG, Bates, Grey and now Leo Burnett. Dheeraj was amongst the top 40 advertising and marketing professionals in Asia Pacific in CampaignAsia’s top 40 under 40 list for 2014. He has led his teams to win over 50 effectiveness awards including a Gold at CannesLions and a Grand Effie.


Dheeraj is the author of a highly acclaimed book ‘Consumer India – Inside the Indian Mind and Wallet’, published globally by John Wiley & Sons, Singapore. The paperback edition of Consumer India ranked amongst the top 0.8% of 10 million books on the Amazon’s bestseller ranking. His book is a recommended read at the Wharton School’s course on marketing in emerging economies.

His second book, ‘India Reloaded – Inside the Resurgent Indian Consumer Market’ was published in June 2015, by Palgrave Macmillan globally & Westland in India. India Reloaded has featured on the Crossword bestseller list and was amongst the top 10 business books on Amazon. Dheeraj has also authored a chapter in the second edition of ‘Shopper Marketing’ published by Kogan Page, USA and another chapter in ‘The Luxury Market in India: Maharajas to Masses’ published by Palgrave Macmillan. His paper, ‘The Changing Mindset of a Billion Minds’ has reference in Frommer’s Guide to India.


Dheeraj has worked on brands and businesses across markets such as Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam and Bangladesh. He has spent time across categories on brands such as Amazon, Sensodyne, Maxis, Maybank, Telekom Malaysia, Star Plus, Bajaj, Reliance Mobile, Colgate, MasterCard, LG, DBS Bank, Tata AIA, TVS, Virgin Mobile, Max Bupa, Fiat, Reckitt Benckiser, Emirates, Dabur, Britannia, ITC Juices, Marico and CavinKare.

Dheeraj is a three times winner of the prestigious Atticus Awards (WPP’s award for best published thinking). He has won several effectiveness awards, including the CannesLions Effectiveness, Jay Chiat Planning Award by the 4A’s, the Asian Marketing Effectiveness Award and the Yahoo Big Idea Chair. He has won multiple EFFIES across India and Asia Pacific, including a Grand Effie Award. He has been on the jury for Spikes Asia Effectiveness, Asian Marketing Effectiveness Awards, APAC EFFIES and the Global Youth Marketing Forum.


Dheeraj was a speaker at the WARC panel on the Future of Strategy at CannesLions 2015. He was invited to speak at the Harvard India Conference 2012 at the Harvard Business School, Boston. Dheeraj has spoken at the Esomar Asia Pacific Conferences three years in a row and has been on their program committee. He has also been a speaker at the Asian Marketing Effectiveness Festival, the CII Marketing Conference and the Global Youth Marketing Forum, CIOL conference and IKEA Global Leader’s conference.
